Frigidaire dishwashers use i-codes on the display — and one of them, i30, is famous enough to have its own internet folklore. Here is what the common codes actually mean on Denver Metro service calls.
i30 — leak / overflow in the base pan
Water reached the drip pan under the tub and the machine locked into a protective drain mode — often running the pump nonstop until it is dried out. Real causes range from a loose hose clamp or door gasket to a cracked sump; false alarms come from condensation or a splash during installation. Either way the machine is doing its job: the pan hides water that would otherwise be finding your cabinet floor. An i30 that returns after drying is a real leak — have it found.
i20 — drain restriction
Water would not leave in time: a clogged filter, a blocked drain hose, an air-gap or disposal connection problem, or a tired drain pump. Clean the filter first; if i20 returns, the blockage moved downstream. Same family as GE’s FTD and every other brand’s drain code.
uo — vent open / drying fault
The vent assembly that releases moist air during drying reported a fault. Dishes come out wet, the cycle may stretch — annoying rather than urgent, and the vent assembly is a moderate, routine part.
PF — power failure
The machine lost power mid-cycle: informational after an outage, a wiring-or-outlet symptom if it repeats on calm days.

My Frigidaire won’t stop running the pump with i30 – is it broken?
That is the protective drain mode doing its job. Kill power, dry the base pan, and it should reset. If i30 comes back, water is genuinely getting into the pan – time to find the leak.
Can I tilt the dishwasher to clear i30?
Carefully tipping the machine back drains the pan and clears a false alarm – it is the standard field trick. Just know that if the code returns, tilting again only postpones a real leak.
Why are my dishes wet with a uo code?
The drying vent is not doing its part – moist air stays in the tub and condenses back onto the load. The wash is fine; the vent assembly needs attention.
