Blodgett is one of the oldest names in commercial ovens — heavy deck ovens, convection ovens and pizza ovens built to bake hard for decades. Most are gas-fired and mechanically straightforward, so faults usually come down to ignition, a thermostat or a fan rather than electronics.

For more than six years, FiXiFY has repaired commercial cooking equipment across the Denver Metro area. We work from a storefront in Denver, fit genuine OEM Blodgett parts, and know a dead oven during service is lost covers — so we schedule fast.

COMMON BLODGETT PROBLEMS — WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN

HEAT

Oven — won’t reach or hold temperature

You’ll notice: the oven stays cold, heats slowly, or overshoots.

What it means: usually a weak igniter that no longer opens the safety gas valve, a drifting thermostat or temperature sensor, or a gas-valve fault. On convection models the fan motor also affects heat-up.

EVEN

Convection — bakes unevenly

You’ll notice: product bakes unevenly front-to-back or side-to-side.

What it means: on convection ovens uneven results trace to a weak or failing fan motor, a door not sealing, or a calibration issue. The fan must circulate heat evenly to bake right.

DECK

Deck oven — one deck cold or uneven

You’ll notice: one deck won’t heat or runs hotter/cooler than the other.

What it means: each deck has its own burner, igniter and thermostat — a fault in one (clogged burner, weak igniter, drifting thermostat) leaves that deck cold or uneven.

PILOT

Gas oven — pilot or igniter won’t light

You’ll notice: the oven won’t light or the pilot won’t stay lit.

What it means: a weak thermocouple (standing pilot) or a failed hot-surface igniter (electronic) that won’t prove flame and open the gas valve, or a dirty pilot/clogged burner.

REPAIR OR REPLACE YOUR BLODGETT?

With Blodgett, repair is almost always the answer — these ovens are built to bake for decades and to be rebuilt, and most faults are a single inexpensive part: an igniter, a thermostat, a fan motor or a gas valve. Replacing a deck or convection oven runs into the thousands when the fix is often a same-day part. And if an oven genuinely isn’t worth fixing, we’ll tell you straight — that’s the FiXiFY way.
