Café is GE’s design-forward premium line — customizable hardware, hearth ovens, and SmartHQ throughout — and at Café prices, repair is almost always the right call. For more than six years, FiXiFY has repaired Café ranges, refrigerators, wall ovens and dishwashers in homes across the Denver Metro area. We’re based at a storefront in Denver and we work from GE’s own service documentation (Café is built by GE).
Whether a Café burner won’t light, the refrigerator has gone warm, or the dishwasher won’t drain, we’ll diagnose the cause and get it running again.

COMMON CAFÉ PROBLEMS & ERROR CODES — WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN
Pulled from GE’s own service guides and bulletins (Café is built by GE) plus our shop’s experience — the faults customers actually run into across Café ranges, refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers. We diagnose and repair these; we don’t recommend DIY.
Range — burner won’t light / oven won’t heat
You’ll notice: a sealed burner clicks but won’t light, or the oven won’t come up to temperature.
What it means: on Café ranges this usually traces to a fouled or cracked spark electrode, a worn igniter switch, a clogged burner port, or — on the oven side — a weak igniter or bake element and the module that drives it.
Common on Café gas and dual-fuel ranges (CGY / C2Y series).
→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.
Refrigerator — not cooling
You’ll notice: the Café fridge or freezer is warmer than its setting, food isn’t keeping, and the temperature climbs.
What it means: per GE’s diagnostics, a warm Café refrigerator usually traces to a thermistor reading wrong, a stalled evaporator or condenser fan, a defrost fault icing the coil, or a sealed-system problem.
Common on Café French-door and counter-depth refrigerators (CVE / CWE series).
→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.
Dishwasher — won’t drain
You’ll notice: the cycle won’t finish or won’t start, water sits in the tub bottom, and the display reads FTD (“Failure to Drain”) — sometimes logged as F5 or F144.
What it means: Café CDT875 dishwashers are named directly in GE’s service bulletin DD02-23 — on that serial range the control can falsely read a drain failure, but it can equally be a real blockage in the pump, hose or air gap. The two have to be told apart with a proper diagnosis.
Reported on Café CDT875 dishwashers (serial range HT–DZ, built 2022–2024).
→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.
Wall oven — won’t heat / wrong temperature
You’ll notice: the oven won’t reach temperature, takes far too long to preheat, or shows an F-code.
What it means: on Café wall ovens, no-heat usually points to a failed bake or broil element, the oven temperature sensor reading out of range, or a relay on the control board.
Common on Café single and double wall ovens (CTS / CKS series).
→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.
