Fisher & Paykel is New Zealand design with a cult following — the DishDrawer, the ActiveSmart fridge, the SmartDrive washer. They’re premium machines worth repairing rather than replacing. For more than six years, FiXiFY has repaired Fisher & Paykel appliances in homes across the Denver Metro area, from our storefront in Denver, working from F&P’s own service documentation.

Whether a DishDrawer won’t drain, the ActiveSmart refrigerator has gone warm, or the SmartDrive washer won’t spin, we’ll diagnose the cause and get it running again.

COMMON FISHER & PAYKEL PROBLEMS — WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN

Pulled from Fisher & Paykel’s service documentation plus our shop’s experience — the faults customers actually run into across DishDrawers, refrigerators, washers and ovens. We diagnose and repair these; we don’t recommend DIY.

DRAIN

DishDrawer — won’t drain / flashing fault

You’ll notice: a drawer ends with water in the bottom, flashes a fault, or won’t start a cycle.

What it means: on the F&P DishDrawer this usually traces to a clogged filter or drain pump, the lid/motor assembly that seals and drains the drawer, or a flood-detect (water in the base) shutting it down. The drawer’s unique sealing system is a common wear point.

Common on F&P single and double DishDrawers (DD24 / DD60 series).

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.

WARM

Refrigerator — not cooling

You’ll notice: the ActiveSmart fridge or freezer is warmer than its setting and the temperature climbs.

What it means: a warm F&P usually traces to a stalled evaporator fan, a defrost fault, a thermistor reading wrong, or a sealed-system problem — which we confirm with F&P’s diagnostics.

Common on F&P ActiveSmart French-door and column refrigerators.

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.

SPIN

Washer — won’t spin

You’ll notice: the wash finishes but the load comes out soaked, or the drum won’t spin up.

What it means: on F&P SmartDrive washers this usually traces to the direct-drive motor or its rotor-position sensor, an out-of-balance condition, the lid lock not confirming closed, or a drain fault.

Common on Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive top-load washers.

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.

HEAT

Oven — won’t heat

You’ll notice: the oven won’t reach temperature, takes far too long, or shows an error.

What it means: on F&P ovens, no-heat usually traces to a failed element, the temperature sensor reading out of range, or a relay/control-board fault.

Common on Fisher & Paykel wall ovens and ranges.

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.
