Pitco is one of the most common commercial fryer brands in American kitchens — gas and electric tube fryers, the Frialator line, and high-efficiency models with digital controllers. A fryer that won’t hold temperature is both a food-safety and an oil-cost problem, so fast, correct repair matters.

For more than six years, FiXiFY has repaired commercial fryers across the Denver Metro area. We work from a storefront in Denver, fit genuine OEM Pitco parts, and schedule fryer calls fast — a dead fryer during a rush is lost covers.

COMMON PITCO PROBLEMS — WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN

HEAT

Fryer — won’t heat or won’t hold temperature

You’ll notice: the fryer won’t come up to temp, recovers slowly, or overshoots.

What it means: common causes: a tripped or failed high-limit, a drifting thermostat or temperature probe, a weak gas valve or igniter (gas), or a burned element or contactor (electric). Won’t-hold-temp is a food-safety and oil-life issue.

LIMIT

Fryer — keeps tripping the high-limit

You’ll notice: the fryer shuts off on its safety high-limit and won’t restart.

What it means: the high-limit trips when oil overheats — often a failed thermostat or probe letting the oil run away, low oil level, or the high-limit itself failing. It’s a safety device, so it needs a proper diagnosis, not a reset-and-hope.

FLAME

Gas fryer — pilot or burner won’t stay lit

You’ll notice: the pilot won’t hold or the burner won’t fire.

What it means: usually a weak or dirty thermocouple/thermopile so the gas valve won’t stay open, a dirty pilot, or a failing gas valve. On electronic-ignition models, the igniter or module.

FILTER

Filtration — pump won’t pump or leaks

You’ll notice: the built-in oil filter won’t draw oil, runs slow, or leaks.

What it means: a clogged filter or pickup, a worn filter pump, a stuck drain or return valve, or a seal leak. Good filtration extends oil life and keeps the fryer holding temperature, so it’s worth keeping right.

REPAIR OR REPLACE YOUR PITCO?

With Pitco, repair is almost always the answer — a commercial fryer is built to be serviced for years, and most faults are a single inexpensive part: a high-limit, a thermostat, a thermocouple, an element or a filter pump. Replacing a fryer runs into the thousands when the fix is often a same-day part — and a properly running fryer also saves you oil. And if a unit genuinely isn’t worth fixing, we’ll tell you straight — that’s the FiXiFY way.

PITCO REPAIR FAQ

Our Pitco keeps tripping the high-limit — is it safe to just reset it?
No — a high-limit trips because the oil overheated, usually from a failed thermostat or probe. Resetting without fixing the cause risks a fire and ruins oil. We diagnose why it tripped and fix it properly.
Can you fix a Pitco fryer that won’t hold temperature during the rush?
Yes — it’s one of our most common fryer calls (a thermostat, probe, high-limit or gas-valve issue). We carry common Pitco parts and offer same or next-day scheduling so you’re not down through service.
Are Pitco parts available in Denver?
We fit genuine OEM Pitco parts — common thermostats, high-limits, thermocouples and elements are stocked for same or next-day repair, with specialty parts typically 3–5 business days.
Do you come to us?
Yes — we repair Pitco fryers on-site across the Denver Metro area, with a shop in Denver for parts.
