FiXiFY is the Official SMEG Service Provider for major appliances in the Denver Metro area.

Smeg is an Italian brand known as much for its look as its engineering — the retro FAB refrigerators, Portofino and Victoria range cookers, and colorful kitchen appliances. People choose Smeg to keep, so a clean repair protects both the kitchen and the investment.

For more than six years, FiXiFY has repaired Smeg ranges, dishwashers, cooktops and refrigerators across the Denver Metro area. We work from a storefront in Denver, diagnose from Smeg’s own fault codes, and fit genuine OEM parts.

COMMON SMEG PROBLEMS — WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN

E1

Dishwasher — E1 (flood / anti-flood)

You’ll notice: the dishwasher stops and won’t restart, sometimes with the pump running; the lights show an E1 pattern.

What it means: per Smeg’s dishwasher codes, E1 is the flood-protection alarm — the anti-flood float in the base has detected water and latched. It usually means a small leak or a saturated base tray rather than a control fault.

E2 / E3 / E4

Dishwasher — water-level, heat & sensor faults

You’ll notice: the cycle won’t fill or heat correctly, or stalls part-way.

What it means: Smeg’s E-codes map the water path: E2 is a water-level / pressure-switch fault, E3 a heating fault (the water warms too slowly), and E4 a temperature-probe (thermostat) fault. Together they point to the fill valve, pressure switch, heating element or NTC sensor.

HEAT

Range — oven won’t reach temperature

You’ll notice: the oven under-bakes, takes too long to heat, or stays cold.

What it means: on Smeg gas ovens it’s often a weak bake igniter that no longer opens the safety valve; on electric ovens a failed element or a drifting oven sensor. A failed thermostat or selector can also stop the oven heating.

COOL

Refrigerator — FAB not cooling evenly

You’ll notice: the retro FAB fridge runs warm, freezes food at the back, or sweats inside.

What it means: common on compact retro fridges: a failed thermostat or sensor, a frosted evaporator, or a door seal letting warm air in. A fridge that freezes at the back usually has a thermostat or damper fault.

REPAIR OR REPLACE YOUR SMEG?

With Smeg, repair is usually the answer — these are design-led Italian appliances people choose on looks as much as function, and a retro FAB fridge or a Portofino range is expensive to replace. Most faults are a single part: a thermostat, a heating element, a pump or a sensor. And if a Smeg genuinely isn’t worth fixing, we’ll tell you straight — that’s the FiXiFY way.
