For more than six years, FiXiFY has repaired Viking ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, refrigerators and dishwashers in homes across the Denver Metro area. We’re based at a storefront in Denver and we work from Viking’s own service documentation.

COMMON VIKING PROBLEMS — WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN

Pulled from Viking’s own service and parts documentation plus our shop’s hands-on experience — the faults customers actually run into across Viking ranges, cooktops, refrigerators and dishwashers, explained accurately. We diagnose and repair these; we don’t recommend DIY on professional gas equipment.

HEAT

Range / oven — won’t heat

You’ll notice: the oven won’t come up to temperature, ignites and drops out, or won’t light at all.

What it means: on Viking ranges, no-heat usually traces to a weak or cracked oven igniter (gas), a failed bake or broil element (electric and dual-fuel), the spark/ignition module, or the oven temperature sensor reading out of range so the control shuts the burner down.

Common on Viking Professional gas, dual-fuel and electric ranges and wall ovens (VGIC / VGSC / VDSC series).

FLAME

Cooktop — burner won’t light

You’ll notice: a surface burner clicks but won’t light, lights then goes out, or one burner is dead while the others work.

What it means: per Viking’s burner-assembly documentation, this is usually a fouled or cracked spark electrode, a worn igniter switch, a clogged burner port or cap that’s out of place, or a gas-valve or wiring fault feeding that burner.

Common on Viking sealed-burner and open-burner gas cooktops and rangetops.

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.

WARM

Refrigerator — not cooling

You’ll notice: the Viking fridge or freezer is warmer than its setting, food isn’t keeping, and the temperature climbs.

What it means: per Viking’s refrigeration parts and service data, a warm Viking usually traces to a failed thermistor, a stalled evaporator fan, a defrost-system fault (the defrost terminator or heater) icing the coil, or a sealed-system / compressor problem.

Common on Viking built-in and free-standing refrigerators (VCRB / VCBB series).

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.

DRAIN

Dishwasher — won’t drain

You’ll notice: the cycle ends with water standing in the bottom of the tub and dishes that aren’t clean.

What it means: on Viking dishwashers, water left in the tub usually points to a clogged filter or sump, a blocked drain hose, or a jammed or failed drain pump.

Common on Viking built-in dishwashers (VDB / FDB series).

→ Needs professional service — book FiXiFY.

REPAIR OR REPLACE YOUR VIKING?

With Viking, repair is almost always the answer — a new Viking range or built-in refrigerator runs into the thousands, while most faults are a single component (an igniter, a fan, a control board). These are professional machines engineered to be serviced for decades. And if a Viking genuinely isn’t worth fixing, we’ll tell you straight. That’s the FiXiFY way — we fix things instead of telling you to throw them away.
